Pallas’s cat conservation program
Description
Species name: PALLAS’S CAT
Scientific name: Otocolobus manul
Range: Central Asia
Project website: www.pallascats.org
Pallas’s cat, the little-known, small-sized feline that lives in the steppes and mountains of central Asia requires protection and attention from researchers. We already know that it has not developed immunity to the toxoplasmosis disease popular among cats, which is why one of his greatest threats is contact with domestic cats. It is the expansion of man into more and more inaccessible parts of Asia that causes a large decline in the number of this species. Poaching for the beautiful fur of the Pallas’s cat is another cause of the increasing risk of extinction of this species. We support Pallas’s Cat International Conservation Alliance (PICA) in protecting this species!
