ZOO I DODO story – The Soul of Arica’s Wild

Join us on October 23rd, 2026, at 5:00 PM in the auditorium of the Wrocław Zoo’s Afrykarium for a meeting with photographer Artur Stankiewicz, author of the album The Soul of Africa’s Wild.

This will be the second event in the “ZOO & DODO story” series. Our guest, photographer Artur Stankiewicz, will share his vision of the African natural world with us.

Artur Stankiewicz began his journey into nature photography while in primary school. A passion for nature has shaped his life, guiding him through his university studies and his subsequent career exploring for oil and gas across various continents. Although his travels have taken him all over the world, he holds a special affection for Africa; he has spent years there, deepening his knowledge of local ecosystems and their wild inhabitants. He focuses on understanding animal behavior, striving to capture intimate moments in his photographs and portray animals in their natural habitats—using lighting and conditions that highlight the beauty of both the species and the ecosystem itself.
Artur Stankiewicz is an award-winner in numerous prestigious photography competitions and has held solo exhibitions in Gdańsk, Warsaw, Łódź, and Wrocław; his photographs also adorn the walls of the Natural History Museum in Wrocław. He collaborates with Nikon, organizes and leads photographic safaris in Africa, and serves as the President of the Lower Silesian Chapter of the Association of Polish Nature Photographers (ZPFP).

In 2026, he released the album The Soul of Africa’s Wild, a retrospective of 15 years spent photographing African wildlife. This beautiful publication will be showcased during the presentation, and copies signed by the author will be available for purchase.
